Wallacedale Astound Violet 3 VHC 90
Dam of Bos Refute
Top Lacation of 7050 litres, 347 kg fat, 288 kg protein, PI 97, 305 day
Astound Violet 3 has 2 Parade daughters and a Badger to calve in the Spring of 2010 Her Jace daughter sold at the Genetics Australia Elite Merit Sale for $6000 to Meldan Jerseys. She calved in Spring 2009, scored 85 points and looks set to be the top production 2 year old in the herd
The founding members of the 'V' families were imported in 1994 as embryos from Sunnyday Jerseys (USA) by Bindi Jerseys (Aus). The mating being Sunnyday Skyline Violet x Berretta. The implanting of the embryos resulted in 4 females and 3 males. Two of the bulls went into progeny testing programs with Genetics Australia 'Gunshot and 'Zeplin'. Both bulls made the top 20 ASI list on the first proofs. The Bindi herd was later sold and we were given the opportunity to buy 2 remaining full sisters Bindi Berretta Violet HC+ 88 and Bindi Berretta Velvet HC+ 86. Both cows turned out to be great production animals with top records of Violet, 10,238 litres, 405 kg fat, 384 kg protein, PI 130. This is still a record for milk today. Velvet produced 8309 litres, 405 kg fat, 313 kg protein, PI 128.
Bindi Berretta Violet was flushed to Judds Admiral (NZ) resulting in Ecallaw Admiral Violet HC+ 88. We then sold Admiral Violet at the 1999 International Dairy Week Showcase Sale. She was purchased by Kaarmona Jerseys and went on to become one of the highest production cows in the herd. Her true claim to fame is the fact that she is the dam of VALERIAN, the number one available APR jersey bull for 6 consecutive proof runs. Berretta Violet is also the Grand dam of Wallacedale Astound Violet VHC 90 pictured above. Astound Violet is the dam of popular young sire in waiting BOS Refute (x Rebel) first proof due Autumn 2010.
