Denfield Melanie P36 has left a massive impression within our herd. She has been a top production cow and very succesful show cow also. Purchased as an in calf rising 2yr old at the dispersal of Dennison Park Jerseys in 1996 along with her maternal sister Denfield Melaine M28 VHC90 EXC X Skyline. Melanie P36 would rank as the greatest all round performance cow milked at Wallacedale. She is now 15 years of age and still in the milking herd. Her top production figures achieved at 11 years of age are 7957 litres, 421 kgs fat, 295 kg protein, PI 116. Lifetime to date is 77,844 litres, 4242 kg fat and 2976 kg protein and climbing. It is her ability to breed great daughters that has really proven what an elite brood cow she is. With all of her daughters scored, 10 are classified 90 points or greater 3 X 91 points, 7 x 90 points, 1 X 88 points, 1 X 87 @ 2 years and 5 X 86 points it is fair to say that she rarely gets it too far wrong. With a Brookbi and Parade yearling to enter the herd next year and more embryo work we hope her strong brood cow abilities will continue on.
