In the severe dry years of 1982/83 we took some heifers on agistement for our good friends Trevor and Joan Broad of Jenolian Jerseys. When it was time for them to return home things had not improved so we purchased the entire line. In this line was Jenolian Ellous 7 VHC 90. Her dam was Jenolion Ellous VHC 90, who was bred from the Francliff Ellous family, who originated from Tolgarth Ellous (IMP NZ) VHC 90, twice Champion and twice best vessel Melbourne. We now have 14 Ellous family members in the milking herd and another 8 youngsters to enter in the next 18 months. Some of the better family members in the herd at present are Wallacedale Lester Ellous 2 VHC 90 EXC, top PI 110 still milking at 11 years. We have one line of Ellous' that now consists of 7 generations straight of cows scored 90 points or higher.
