In 1990 we purchased 4 in calf heifers from the Baildon herd of M.O Hughes in West Gippsland. This herd was full of Lamorna and Lynbrae bloodlines and was also home of the famous Bluebells. The 4 heifers were all from the Carol family and one in particular Baildon Carol 163rd VHC 90 Exc 9 is behind most of the Carols currently in the herd. Carol 163rd was in the herd until 10 yrs of age and produced 1 VHC 90 daughter in Wallacedale Carol who also produced Wallacedale Mals Carol VHC 90 EXC7. Carol 163rd's best daughter was Wallacedale Lester Carol SUP 92 Exc 7 who was a broad ribbon winner at many local Gippsland shows and 2nd best udder in class as a junior 2 year old at International Dairy Week. Lester Carol also knew how to milk with a top lactation @ 6yrs of 7612 litres, 389kg fat, 288 kg protein, PI 117. She is the dam of one of our most admired herd members with visitors in Wallacedale Peris Carol VHC 91 (picture and details above). With 8 Carols milking and another 6 youngsters to enter the herd in the next 2 years we are looking forward to watching this family develop out further.
